Hi, Conduits,

If you were in a position to positively transform the life of a single individual would you do it?

My Life-Changing Event
As a child, I had to overcome the struggles of abuse, racism, and biased opinions which caused me to isolate myself from others, sending me on a downward spiral in life.

To numb the pain, I buried myself in books. By age 18 I taught myself how to code. By age 22 I had an opportunity to interview at a software company called Cayenta.

With no formal technical training, Bruce, the hiring manager, offered me the job stating, “I was the right fit” based on three-character traits he saw during the interview: I was honest, I was proactive, and I had a great attitude. Bruce didn’t hold me to an unrealistic standard and was willing to give me an opportunity to prove myself based on my strengths. Bruce was in a position to transform my life in a positive way, which helped lay the foundation for the career I have today.

Now I am in a position to positively transform the lives of others. And in 2018, I started San Diego Tech Hub (SDTH) with the goal of bringing together a community of socially conscious professionals looking to help create positive change.
